Curing Guidelines

Achieving a proper cure is crucial for the durability and washability of your prints. Shaliteink Process Red plastisol ink is designed for efficient curing.

  • Cure Temperature: Our plastisol inks are fully cured at 160°C (320°F). Make sure the entire ink layer reaches this temperature for complete cure.
  • Flash Temperature: For multi-color prints or when an underbase is required, flash at 120°C to 140°C (248°F to 284°F) for 3-5 seconds.
  • Pro Tip: Surface temperature readings from laser guns can be misleading. For accurate curing, it is essential that the entire ink layer reaches the specified temperature. Adjust the speed and temperature settings of the dryer depending on the ink deposit thickness and type of garment. Cotton clothes may need to last a little longer due to moisture absorption.
  • Testing for Cure:
    • Stretch test: After cooling, stretch the print to approximately two-thirds the garment’s normal stretch. If the ink bursts and does not retract, it means it has not cured
    • properly.Washing Test: For definitive test, wash the garment 5-10 times. Signs of deterioration after 1-3 washes indicate undertreatment.

Clean-Up

Maintaining your equipment is easy with Shaliteink Process Red Plastisol ink.

  • On press: Use a dedicated plastisol press wash or ink degradant to quickly clean screens and squeegees.
  • In the sink: For a thorough cleaning of the screen, use Plastisol Screen Wash or ink degradant to remove all ink residue.

Storage Information

To maximize the shelf life and performance of your plastisol inks:

  • Store Shalighteink Process Red Plastisol ink at room temperature, ideally between 18-32°C (65-90°F).
